What could be more American?

This classic comedy depicts the blossoming of the charming but seemingly dumb ex-chorus girl Billie, the female companion of the vulgar, egotistic Harry Brock, who has come to a swanky hotel in Washington to make crooked deals with government big-wigs. Billie's lack of social graces embarrasses even Harry, who decides that Billie must be taught some of the amenities and a few basic facts. For the task, he hires Paul Verrall, the young, idealistic reporter who has been investigating political skullduggery and is interested in Brock's activities. Paul finds that Billie has a natural honesty and a frankness about her, and with his guidance, she soon learns about history, music, and politics, as well as what Harry really is and what he wants. This summer enjoy a funny, heartwarming evening of delight and discovery in Billie's world.
